Very informative in the sense had we not visited and heard the history of it first hand you wouldn't believe . Very sad history behind it. My kids asked alot of questions which makes me think it still is a hidden history lesson in there generation as well as mine even with family ties N.S. ...

A lot of very informative information done with modern hi-tech interface, but the layout had an empty feel to it, relies too heavily on the screens

The History of this place is tradgic and inspirational. It's hard to imagine what took place here over 10 years as not much remaining. The building is state of the art and very well laid out..The washrooms are very clean and great Wheelchair access. The Staff is friendly and very informative. The walking trail are easy and not long.. If near Shelbourne NS take the time to explore the History of Birchtown NS ..Also check out the Donated Clothes from the TV series Book of Negro's.. This show was filmed in the area.

As an American it was very interesting learning about a piece of history we aren't taught in school. There was loads of information, but very few screens which would make it challenging if it was crowded. We went midmorning on a Tuesday and it was fine. Overall definitely somewhere worth a visit.

Very sad part of history but extremely well explained and brought to life by the guides.
